why do quotes never go down

i'm almost dead (50)
own a home
lock my car in my own garage
have over 10 years NCD
drive an old shitty VW golf

yet Im still expected to pay 600 quid with 500 excess!

The meerkats wanted 750 quid cheapest
and that fat fucking opera singer wanted 550

what box should i tick that implies I am not a muggy cunt?

Re: Car Insurance
My profession makes it expensive coz I work in media/press

and my missus was named driver and she is on provisional - and i always take lowest excess with recovery

I do however have a newer Golf with Hastings - and that costs me 350 thru Hastings

so I just put that on SORN and replaced it with my older shitter - 3 pounds extra on the premium

I have 4 years no claims, rent a two bed and own a one bed. I pay £300 per year. It comes down to where you live, crime is pretty much non-existant in West Horndon.

You're old and therefore in a riskier age bracket.

Change each year to avoid getting shafted.

Don't use brokers.

Get a telematics linked one and prove you're a good driver.

There you are mate, fill your boots. Based in Gibraltar.

Not great at pricing on risk, so you'll get the deal if your life.

Re: Car Insurance
If you live in an area of higher fraud, things like cash for crash, the underwriters will charge you more. Tottenham (yes!) is particularly bad.

But £600 is still below the average comp £715. Peak was 2011 when average comp was £800 plus.

It's a very competitive market in the U.K, the most advanced in the world on price comparison. Many car insurers make big losses in this part of their book, like RSA.

If you want super cheap buy direct from First Central. Not great at claims, but cheap.

£920 for mine - £1200 for the missus

Admiral multi car £1100 for the both!

Initially insured with Admiral and Elephant respectively who are the same company. Baffling.

Re: Car Insurance
You are going with the wrong people.

Me and the missus are younger than you, don't keep cars in the garage and pay about £450 a year for the two. Nissan Qashquai and Renault Clio.

You're being robbed mate.

Poor sod, least the black lab can't ruin the motor anymore.
